This two-day training is aimed at educators and business trainers aiming to learn more about Moodle's core features and implementing them effectively for courseware design.

An initial overview of Moodle is followed by instruction on how to use the key resources and activities, enabling you to build interactive and stimulating online courseware. By the end of the course, attendees will be familiar with navigating the Moodle interface and will have created a "Sandbox" course using key tools.

• Creating and editing the Moodle profile
• Course settings and enrolment methods
• Adding resources to Moodle including:
  • Uploading Files
  • Creating Webpages
  • Using Multimedia
  • Using Moodle Repositories
• Creating Moodle activities including:
  • Assignment
  • Choice
  • Forum
  • Quiz
  • Wiki
• Using blocks, topic summaries and labels to customize your courses
• Discussion of other Moodle tools as requested

Participant Notes

If you have files that you would like to include in your sample Moodle course, please bring them (in an electronic format) as you can add them when we cover "adding resources". This is not a requirement however, as a variety of demonstration files are provided.

As our training facilities are fully serviced with computers and internet connection, participants are not required to bring their own Laptop.

Sessions begin at 9:00am and conclude at 4:30pm, with an hour break for lunch. Light refreshments and lunch are provided at the venue.

Important Note

This training is geared toward educators and course creators who will be building content and facilitating student activity. It will not address administrative Moodle tasks such as user authentication, site settings, themes, etc. Please check out our Moodle Administrator Training for futher information.
